Texas Prickly Pear Fruit

The sweet purple fruit of the Prickly Pear Cactus is consumed by animals and humans alike. Peeling the fruit is highly recommended for human consumption because of the clusters of tiny spines. Water drops bead the cactus on a foggy day in the Texas Hill Country.
